When The Kids Plan Mother’s Day

Last night the boys told me that they were already planning Mother’s Day for me.  First, they said, they were going to let me sleep in until 1:00 PM if I wanted to.  Next, they would give me love – hugs, kisses and cuddles.  Isaac said this was because they knew I wouldn’t want any gifts to show how much they loved me.  Gabriel said he would also show his love by not giving me flowers, that way I wouldn’t have to watch something beautiful slowly die on the dining room table.  Then they said they wondered if Dad would like the same thing for Father’s Day.  “Probably not,” I said, shaking my head.  “Dad prefers his gifts of love in the form of something shiny, fun, or drinkable”.
