I took the kids to a used book sale this weekend. We brought home 22 new-to-us books, so I told them it was probably time to pass along some of our old books that we no longer read.
My oldest son piped up and said, “You should give them to our school library.”
I thought that was very kind of him, and I was feeling pretty proud. Then he went on to say, “They don’t have very many books there. They are making the older kids make the books now, but they’re not very good.”
Chances are the school is not in fact running a sweat shop out of its library, but I would feel really guilty if I didn’t at least offer the books to them (you know, just in case…).
